This year is exciting, since we will be opening up the play to JH students. Our production this year may vary depending on the size of our cast we may have. Students are encouraged to sign up via the QR code on the flyer or sign up at the office. To use the QR code, students must have the google docs app.
This is only open to 7th graders and up. The goal is to begin practices the first full week of February. We will be working around as many schedules as possible to accommodate everyone.
Auditions will be Wednesday January 31st at 4:30pm right after school. Dinner and Drinks will be provided since this process takes a few hours. For any questions, please contact Mrs. Shermer at bshermerpcsd5.org.
Students are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible to get an accurate estimate of casting numbers. Thank you!
This week Speech and Drama faced a two day meet hosted by SD2 schools and Huntley at Skyview. This meet had 5 rounds plus finals, hosting over 500 students.

Finals Schedule for High School - December 19-21.
Today Speech and Drama traveled to Laurel to compete. We actually had two competitors. Noah Goldy had his first meet today performing in Humorous Solo and competed well. Kamry Harris placed 5th in Mime! We are very proud of our kids.
Next time we will be competing at Skyview on January 5th and 6th.
Speech and Drama will be hosting a Family Art Night on December 15th at 5-7pm in the PCHS lunchroom. Hot cocoa and snacks will be provided as we enjoy painting our fun wintery snowman. We had to change our date so it no longer conflicts with the HS concert held on the 14th. A new batch of flyers will be sent home this week to reflect the change.
Spaces should be reserved in advanced and checks should be made out to Speech and Drama.
Prices are:
$50 for First 1 Adult/Teen and 1 Child Pair
$10 for each additional person
$30 for Adult/Child 5 and under pair
Children 5 and under are Free
We look forward to seeing you there!
Speech and Drama traveled to Belfry today to compete. Kamry placed first in Pantomime earning a fun Star Wars inspired medal. Kudos Kamry!
Next week we travel to Laurel to compete at our largest meet so far this season. This is a great opportunity to come and support our Drama kids. Drama will be located in the Laurel Middle School (we currently have no speech kids).
Drama rounds are at 8:30am, 10am, 11:30 am, and finals will be held at 2:30pm. If you plan on attending, please note that there isn't any recording allowed in rounds, and you cannot call our competitors by name within their competition room or identify what school they are from to keep their identities anonymous and to prevent bias.
We always enjoy and encourage spectators. Stay for a round or two, It's a great opportunity to understand what we do! There is no fee to come watch.
FCCLA District Kick-Off Meeting was held in Columbus a couple weeks ago -- students met up with other schools interacting in a series of workshops to strengthen their leadership skills. It was a great start to all the great things to come this year!
Park City schools is beginning a new process of creating what we expect a Graduate from Park City Schools to look like. This will be a continuous process. We will look at surveys, classes taken vs those requested, job demands, college requirements, and community needs and norms. The Graduate Profile we create will need to work for our elementary, junior high and high schools. The profile is part of our new accreditation process with the state. We will meet tonight at 6 PM in the cafeteria for an introduction to the process, and then we will meet 1/29, 2/7, and 2/26 to process and analyze the data from the surveys. And then we have several other meetings after that to develop the actual Graduate Profile. If interested in participating, please attend, but we ask that you would commit to the entire process.
