Attention Senior Parents:
We are in need of baby photos. We would like them by the end of February, or ASAP so students can begin working on their senior slideshow. We need 8-10 "baby" or photos from their childhood to their current age. Photos can be hard copies or emailed directly to Mrs. Shermer at bshermer@pcsd5.org.
If there is one specific photo you'd like in the yearbook, please note that as you turn in your photos. Otherwise Yearbook will select it among the photos turned in.

Elementary Students of the Month for January were chosen for being cooperative.
The high school Textiles class partnered with Mrs. Janicek's class to create hand-sewn felt monsters -- the kindergarteners drew a monster on paper and the high schoolers had to replicate the drawing with felt and thread. Fun was had by both classes!
On Monday, February 5, at 6:30 PM in the cafeteria, the Board will host a public forum to discuss the process and present status of the Board's attempt to gain an Amendment to the Nye Hardrock Mine Impact Agreement, which would include Park City Schools with other county schools receiving mine money.
The girls and boys basketball games on Friday will be in the following order in Big Timber:

Any students in grades 6-12 interested in Trap Club, there will be a meeting in the school cafeteria Tuesday evening (1/30) at 6 pm.
After a long two days and lots of delays, we got ourselves a 2nd place Mime champion! Congratulations to Kamry on a long hard season! You earned it!
Drama Update: Kamry is going to finals! She will be placing top 8 in the state!

Congratulations to Kamry for placing 2nd place in Mime! We competed today in Columbus, and next Thursday we will be traveling to Choteau to compete in our State competition.
Park City School. On Tuesday night our school, along with what sounds like a majority of Montana schools, received a hoax bomb threat through email. As is protocol it was called in to the sheriff and the sheriff's department swept the school for anything and cleared it. We take all threats seriously and we are confident that this was a hoax. We had staff and administration in the building last night until around 10 PM. We will continue with school today at normal times. We will have extra police presence as a precaution.
Beginning July 1, Montana schools will follow a new law that allows for students to apply to enroll in any school they wish with some limited stipulations set by individual schools. One thing that students need to keep in mind is that if they wish to participate in that school's activities, they still fall under the MHSA transfer rules where they must wait for 90 days to participate in varsity sports. The exceptions are if they are 9th grade and have not enrolled in a school yet, or if the family physically moves into the new district. So any students wishing to participate in fall sports for a school they are not residents of would need to transfer at semester of this school year.
High School Basketball scheduled for Saturday in Gardiner has been canceled and rescheduled for January 17th. Game times will be as follows:

Varsity Boys - 5:30
Varsity Girls - 7:00
FCCLA is putting on the annual Valentine's Day Fundraiser this year and order forms are officially ready! Starting Thursday, January 11th, you can begin placing orders for your family and friends. Orders will need to be turned in by Thursday, February 1st, and gifts will be delivered on Thursday, February 8th. Copies of the order form are available at the school's front office. See attached photo for detailed information :)
This year is exciting, since we will be opening up the play to JH students. Our production this year may vary depending on the size of our cast we may have. Students are encouraged to sign up via the QR code on the flyer or sign up at the office. To use the QR code, students must have the google docs app.
This is only open to 7th graders and up. The goal is to begin practices the first full week of February. We will be working around as many schedules as possible to accommodate everyone.
Auditions will be Wednesday January 31st at 4:30pm right after school. Dinner and Drinks will be provided since this process takes a few hours. For any questions, please contact Mrs. Shermer at bshermerpcsd5.org.
